Register to Vote

Are you registered to vote? Do you want to change your party, your address, your name? To Register to Vote, You Must:
1. Be a citizen of the United States.
2. Be 18 years of age by the day of the election in which you want to vote.
3. Be a resident of the county for at least 30 days before the election.
4. Not be in jail or on parole for a felony conviction.
5. Not claim the right to vote elsewhere.

How Do I Register?

You can obtain a mail registration form by calling 1-800-FOR-VOTE or your County Board of Elections. Forms are also available at most government offices, post offices and libraries. Complete the form and mail it to your County Board of Elections. You may also register in person at your County Board of Elections. You need to re-register to vote if:

you move out of the county
change your name
change your party enrollment

Prior to election, The League of Women Voters of the Plattsburgh area solicits and publishes submitted bios/platform issues of all of the local candidates on our website. We would like to thank all candidates who chose to participate in this voter service. Congratulations to all of our elected candidates and a warm thank you to all candidates who offer voters choice and the continuation of our democratic process.

The League of Women Voters of the Plattsburgh area upon request also sponsors Meet the Candidate Forums/Debates through out Clinton and Essex Counties for local candidates and regularly co-sponsors high profile debates with Mountain Lake Public Broadcasting.
